The Pergola at Bedford
Martha Stewart’s Farm, NY
“Dmitri measured, cut, and meticulously checked every angle to ensure the pieces were installed to perfection.”
Martha Stewart, The Martha Blog, March 2025
Martha Stewart’s winding 300-foot pergola at her Bedford farm was built more than twenty years ago from wooden beams carried on antique granite posts. The timeworn wood had reached the end of its life.
Working from a tail pattern Martha designed, Logvinski Construction hand cut roughly eighty cedar rafter tails in her farm workshop, then re-straightened and leveled every granite post that had shifted over the decades. Because the pergola curves, each rafter sits at a slightly different angle — every measurement was checked and rechecked.
The new cedar beams and rafters were finished in Martha’s signature Bedford Gray.

“Things done right, last a lifetime.”
Craftsmanship has gone down the drain. New builds need frequent visits. That is exactly why Logvinski Construction LLC exists.
We are a small, hands-on firm built around one master carpenter. Dmitri works on site himself, measures himself, and checks the angles again before anything is fastened. The practice suits clients whose houses ask for patience: curved structures, antique stone, salvaged timber, and millwork that has to match something already standing.
Based in Stamford, Connecticut and serving Fairfield County and Westchester since the early 2000s.
The Martha Blog
